EVERQUEST : THE ANIMATED ADVENTURES
You are in their world now...

Step into the mystical and wonderous world of Norrath for one full hour every Saturday evening in the most ambitious and magical animated television series ever -- EverQuest : The Animated Adventures!  EQ:TAA airs weekly exclusively on Cartoon Network's new ADULT SWIM CHANNEL at 8:00pm PST / 7:00pm CST, with reruns every weekday night at 9:00pm PST/8:00pm CST.

In the mysterious world of Norrath, the forces of good wage a long war against the many legions of evil that have plagued the peoples of the land for centuries.  From the frozen reaches of the icy Everfrost tundra, home to the mighty barbarians, to the misty and secluded glade of Rivervale, town of the peaceful and good-natured halflings, from the deep and rocky mountains of Kaladim, city of the proud dwarves, to the wooded and vast forests of Faydark, home of the nimble and beautiful elves, the armies of light stand their ground and set forth for adventure and glory, braving the many perils of the world around them, and beyond.  Beasts of every kind travel the lands, from mighty dragons of the frozen continent of Velious and the undead forces of Castle Mistmoore and Unrest Keep, to the warloving giants of Kael Drakkel and the vile and slave-trading Shissar snakemen of Ssraeshza Temple.  And above it all, watching and plotting, are the mighty gods, whose motives can only be guessed at...

A joint project of Sony Online Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television Animation, under the creative supervision of producers Ben Ares, Ron Hyatt, Bill Blackman and Nicholas Pera, EverQuest : the Animated Adventures is set for a more mature audience than previous projects, cataloguing the travels and exploits of a team of adventurers as they cross the continents of the planet Norrath, its moon of Luclin, and the dimensions beyond where only the gods and their minions dwell.  The series follows them from their fledgling beginnings to the heights of their abilities, as they discover and attempt to unravel a threat to their world so vast and terrible that it will take every ounce of will and power they can muster to bring it to an end.  EQ:TAA is based on the widely-popular smash hit video game EverQuest.

By using the ADULT SWIM venue, the producers hope to allow the story of EQ:TAA to play out without any of the limitations previously set upon other projects such as Batman : TAS and The Superman Adventures, which due to their time-slot and association with children's programming never truly gave writers a chance to spread their wings.  From publicist Mark Clements : "The appeal and widespread response of our fan-base following viewings of the uncut and unedited version of Batman Beyond : Return of the Joker gave us the impetus to create a series that wasn't as held-back as most American animation is, and since a large portion of EverQuest's player-base is adult and well-associated with the ingame mechanics of adventure and combat, we chose a platform that would allow a truly exciting and limitless series." Also unlike previous projects, EQ:TAA is a continuous and weekly storyline, each episode leading into the next, culminating into a grand climax that has been planned to take five seasons to cover.

In another interesting and unusual maneuver, the series' main cast of characters (both heroes AND villains!) are taken from actual players in the game who were chosen in a three-month-long survey of roleplaying and submitted histories, in the end choosing twenty out of over five-thousand entries!  Key characters in the EverQuest game's history such as the heroic elf-maiden Firiona Vie or the cruel and vicious dark-elf Lanys T'Vyl of will show often, but the story's stars will be those who have always been its most prevalent factor : its players.
